What small business owners can learn from digital nomads..
I am sure if you have heard about the term “Digital Nomad”. It has been a term that has been drawing the attention of many. If not a digital nomad is someone that works remotely through the use of telecommunications and technologies. These workers has adopted a nomadic lifestyle often working from foreign countries in places such as book stores, libraries or co-working spaces. A digital nomad has adopted certain qualities that small business owners can value and use within their advantage. What are these qualities? Let us find out.
Responsiveness is key
Convenience plays a big role in small business ownership. Not only internally but, as well as for your clients. It is important to note that having a quick response rate to potential clients will increase your turnover rate. To achieve this, you should explore the available technologies to enhance your communication with your clients. Nowadays we can explore multiple avenues of communication with clients such as social media, blog pages, emails, phone calls and list goes on. If your business is not mainly online, be creative and use initiative. There is nothing worse than trying to find out more of a business service or product and being let down with lagging response times.
Digital Nomads has to rely on motivating themselves as they are traveling most of the time. Keeping yourself motivated is easier said than done. Being a sole business owner or working remotely from other partners of the business can sometimes leave you demotivated and your productivity dropping. Doing your work with a proactive attitude can overcome getting stuck in a demotivative state.
Independence is surely a big responsibility and so is interdependence. They both play their role within business. I have seen this concept being wrongfully applied in many situations. Interdependence is the state of being dependent within a group or organisation. Having these qualities is important for a small business to thrive. They will be the curatorship of well formulated ideas and could possibly lead to the success of your business.
Proactive behavior and independence are highly valued qualities as stated above. Another side of the coin is to be result orientated. Try to narrow down your workflow to drive execution and only finding gratification when the work is done. Be more result oriented. This will get your tasks done in no time and push your small business in the right direction.
I personally despise being unorganized but, i do however enjoy finding ways to be more organised within my tasks. There is ample amount of technologies out there that can assist you with your day to day. You can go read my post on Online Marketing Tools to just name a few and that is just within one topic. The bottom line is to boost your productivity you will have to be organised.
